Years 3 and 4
Our Aims in Years 3 and 4
In years 3 and 4, our aim is to provide a safe and happy environment for every child to grow, learn and develop confidence. We appreciate every child is unique and therefore promote kindness, tolerance, understanding and working together. We love to have fun when we are learning, using a wide variety of resources and activities to do this. We have created an environment where mistakes are learning points, where sharing ideas and talking are key, where opinions matter just as much as facts. In Falcon and Heron class, we strive for progress not perfection.
Meet Our Team
Mr P Jeffreys
I joined Manor in September 2013, after having worked at another primary school in the Reading area for 4 years. For a few years I supported classes across the school with their computing learning, and enjoy working with children of all ages.
I enjoy using technology to support children's learning, and I'm also interested in how we as a school can use technology to engage and involve parents in their children's learning and school life more broadly.
Miss D Marney
I have been working in Primary Education since 2005, having worked across all key stages. I graduated from Reading University with a BA Honours Degree in Children’s Development and Learning and I became a qualified teacher in July 2020. I enjoy working with children, enabling them to gain knowledge about their immediate environment and the wider world.
Miss J Hodgson
I started working at Manor in 1999 and have enjoyed working with children right across the school. In recent years I have enjoyed being a staff governor, taking particular interest in supporting the school's health and safety work. I enjoy encouraging children to develop their confidence and independence skills as they get ready for the next step in their lives.
Mrs S Thompson
I have been part of the Manor team for 26 years. I started my journey as a lunchtime assistant and moved on to become a level three Teaching Assistant. Four years ago I also took on the role of Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA). I love supporting, encouraging and helping to develop inquisitive young minds. In my spare time I love spending time with my family and walking my dog Ori.
