Autumn 2020
This term, year 6 have cooked a vegetable stir fry and then wrote instructions for how to make it. Leading on from this, they then had the opportunity to write a set of instructions on something that has inspired them or they enjoy. We have a variety of instructions - how to summon Bloody Mary (based on a class reader), how to build a 3D model planet (from our Science topic), how to be a professional ballet dancer and many more. Please have a read of them below and see if you can spot your child’s writing!

Black History Month Art
Our new topic in English this week is poetry. We have been focusing on different poetic techniques used by various poets, reading, analysing, annotating and performing poems. Ask your children what the mnemonic ‘MORERAPS’ stands for. Nightingale have even requested they have a book to record their favourite poems in; including a space to write their own. Next week they will be writing their own poems.
