Hopefully you will have received a text regarding class Zooms. These have now moved to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only. Log in details and times remain the same: 9am for Blackbird class and 11.30am for Chaffinch class so please try and log on if you can. If your child is attending school, they will be logging on with a member of staff from their bubble. We look forward to seeing you!

Continuing our topic of Dreams and Goals...

Today we are going to think about the people we have around us and how they can be supportive.

Imagine you are drawing a picture or building a model and someone is telling you it's rubbish or you are doing it wrong. Imagine they are telling you you are not very good at it. Imagine they were telling you that they were better than you...

How do you think this would make you feel? Is it right for them to say unkind things like that? How do you feel when people say horrible things to you? How do you feel when someone says something nice to you?

If you were in this situation, how could it be made better? e.g. they could say that you're drawing looked good or that they liked your model or even offer to help!

Can you say something kind about someone else in the room? How do we feel when we hear nice things about ourselves? Think about the goal you set yourself last week. Will having the support of your friends and family help you to achieve your goal?

Have a look at the picture below and see if you can create your own. You don't have to use dinosaurs, it can be any toys/figures that you have at home. Why do you think the shadows are created? If there's not suitable sunlight, perhaps you could use a torch or a lamp.

Physical Development

Begin today's session by joining in with a jungle warm up! What animals can you see?

The Jungle Warm Up

Today we are going to practice some skills of balancing and crawling.

Balancing

Start by trying to balance a balloon; small ball; bean bag or other object on different parts of your body. How long can you keep the object balanced for? Can you keep it balanced for longer than a family member?

Next ask a family member to time you while you balance on one foot. How long can you balance for before you start to wobble?

Crawling

Have a crawling race with a member of your family. Who can crawl the fastest and win the race? Can you think of a jungle animal that might crawl about?

Next create an obstacle course using chairs, tables, boxes and any other suitable furniture that you may have. Ask someone to time you to see how long it takes you to crawl around the course. Keep practising to see if you can improve your time.

Finish today's session by joining in with jungle yoga!

Andy's Dino Toybox

In todays episode, Compsognathus wants to play hide-and-seek, but will he find a good dinosaur to play with?
