Monday 18th May

Physical Development- Join in with Joe Wicks as he hosts a live workout from 9am. Click here to join in!

Literacy- Practice writing your letters A-Z using the formation rhymes. Then practise sounding out and writing the following words: pen, map, jug, buzz, mess, fill.

Maths- This week we will be exploring the concept of halving. Halving is where you split an object or group of objects into two groups and each group will be the same size (have the same number of objects in it).

For this task you may find it easier to have a group of the same objects (e.g. counters, dried pasta pieces etc) and two bowls or plates to put them on.

1. Have two objects in front of you. Share them between each bowl. E.g. one for that bowl, one for that bowl. How many does each bowl have? Complete the sentence 'half of two is ...'.

2. Now get four objects. Can you find a way to share them between each bowl so that each bowl has the same amount? How many does each bowl have? Complete the sentence 'half of four is ...'.

3. Repeat for numbers 6, 8 and 10.

Now in your work books, write out and complete the following sentences:

Half of 2 is ...

Half of 4 is ...

Half of 6 is ...

Half of 8 is ...

Half of 10 is ...

Expressive Arts- Choose a family member to draw a portrait of. A portrait is where you only draw someones face. Look at or think of the person you have chosen. What colour eyes do they? Is their hair long or short? Curly or straight? Have a go at drawing them!

PSED- How is everyone feeling today? Draw faces to show whether they are happy, sad, excited, tired...
