Summer 2021
Art
In Art last term, Nightingale enjoyed their topic 'Every Picture Tells a Story', in particular recreating one of Banksy's famous murals. They focused on making the mural more migrant friendly and changed the colours, words and images to be more welcoming.
Geography
Today in geography, Nightingale investigated how rivers shape the land by making their own rivers using sand and a jug of water. They identified where erosion, transportation and deposition takes place.
Science - Testing properties of materials
Yesterday in Science, we began our new topic for this term: properties of materials. Nightingale were tasked with setting up an investigation to test materials for a food preparation surface. We discussed how to conduct a fair test and how we would test the materials. They then carried out fair tests on the materials and recommended that marble would make the most suitable food preparation surface based on the results of their investigation.
